Spain and offshore wind: Investment, value chain, and the strategic role of Northern Spain

On July 9, Madrid will become a key meeting point for offshore wind in Spain, and Saitec will be there. Our CEO, David Carrascosa, will take part in the strategic session “Spain and Offshore Wind: Investment, Value Chain, and the Strategic Role of Northern Spain,” where he will share our perspective on the challenges and opportunities of a technology set to play a leading role in the energy transition.

David will join the first roundtable, “A Country-Level Industrial and Technological Opportunity.” Together with other industry leaders, we will discuss how private investment and technological development need to move forward together to position offshore wind as a driver of growth, job creation, and industrial leadership.

Joining David on this panel are:
  • Álvaro Platero, CEO of Astilleros Gondan
  • Antonio Sánchez, Commercial Director of Navantia Seanergies
  • Miguel Zorita, President and CEO of Zima Equity Investments
  • Philippe Meyran, CEO of ArcelorMittal Asturias

The session will be moderated by Oliverio Álvarez, Partner in charge of Energy, Resources, and Industry at Deloitte.

Spain is facing a unique moment. After a period of regulatory uncertainty, the sector is now entering a phase of industrial maturity. At Saitec, we have long been committed to floating offshore wind as a key solution to unlock the full potential of our coastlines.

We are well aware that the technological challenge is significant: it involves large-scale structures, adapting the supply chain, and upgrading port infrastructure to handle major components. At this event, we will not only address these challenges but also explore how to turn them into a real competitive advantage for our industry.
