Over the past decade, by conducting extensive wave basin tests and deploying a full-scale prototype, such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/projects\/demosath\">DemoSATH project<\/a>, we have rigorously validated our numerical models of our innovative <a href=\"https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/sath\">SATH (Swinging Around Twin Hull) floating offshore wind technology<\/a>\u2014 and today, we celebrate a key milestone: 10 tank test campaigns in 10 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Real-world validation for SATH floating wind innovation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While much of our engineering work is grounded in advanced numerical models, we believe that <strong>real-world testing is essential to bring innovative technologies to life<\/strong>. From the very beginning, our team recognized the importance of hydrodynamic testing to validate the behavior and reliability of SATH under a wide range of offshore conditions.<br>These tank test campaigns have allowed us to test and fine-tune the performance of the platform in key operational scenarios. The key experiments included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Regular and irregular wave tests with soft and full mooring configurations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Towing test<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Force oscillations analysis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heave plate optimization through the testing of different configurations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wind and wave interaction under multi-directional sea states<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wind turbine emergency stops<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This continuous program of testing has significantly deepened <strong>our understanding of SATH\u2019s response to complex maritime conditions<\/strong> and enhanced our ability to optimize it for future commercial deployment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Latest test campaign at CEHIPAR focuses on next-gen turbine models<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our most recent tank test campaign was conducted at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inta.es\/ICTS-CEHIPAR\/es\/inicio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">INTA- CEHIPAR <\/a>(El Pardo Hydrodynamic Testing Center), one of Europe\u2019s most advanced facilities for naval and offshore testing. This campaign focused on platform designed for <strong>14 \u2013 16 MW offshore wind turbines<\/strong>, reflecting the rapid upscaling of floating wind technology to meet global renewable energy demands.<br>Through this test, we explored critical performance indicators related to structural dynamics, stability, and environmental loading \u2014 data that is essential as we design for larger and more powerful turbines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:36px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n  <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0qqioo_d2BY?si=z7_uM6ILiYqxW1zm\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:33px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bridging the gap between testing and real deployment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The insights gained through these test campaigns are not isolated. They build upon and complement our hands-on experience with DemoSATH, our full-scale 2MW demonstrator deployed off the coast of Spain.
