The Offshore Coalition for Energy and Nature \u2013 Mediterranean Sea (Med OCEaN)<\/strong> recently visited the DemoSATH floating offshore wind platform<\/strong> in Spain, reinforcing its commitment to the sustainable deployment of offshore wind energy<\/strong> in harmony with marine biodiversity<\/strong>. The visit provided coalition members with valuable insights into one of Europe\u2019s most advanced floating wind pilot projects<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Med OCEaN<\/strong>, launched in September 2023, is a collaborative initiative that brings together NGOs<\/strong>, offshore wind industry leaders<\/strong>, and transmission system operators (TSOs)<\/strong> from across the Mediterranean basin and adjacent Atlantic waters<\/strong>. The coalition\u2019s mission is to accelerate the clean energy transition<\/strong> by advancing offshore wind and grid infrastructure<\/strong>, while safeguarding healthy and resilient marine ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the DemoSATH visit, coalition members attended two technical presentations highlighting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Saitec Offshore\u2019s expertise<\/strong> in floating wind technology and engineering<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The environmental design and biodiversity integration<\/strong> of the DemoSATH platform, including its potential to support coexisting marine uses and enhance ocean health<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
