This visit forms part of an ongoing collaboration to advance sustainable floating offshore wind, established under a formal agreement signed last year, aimed at advancing <strong>decarbonization, circularity, and biodiversity protection<\/strong> in the <strong>floating offshore wind sector<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Joint Research on Carbon Footprint Analysis in Floating Wind<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Our collaboration focuses on <strong>carbon footprint analysis<\/strong> as a foundation for developing <strong>low-impact technologies<\/strong> in floating offshore wind. This initiative aligns closely with our broader sustainability goals and our mission to minimize the environmental impact of floating wind systems throughout their lifecycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Carbon Footprint of SATH Technology<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A major outcome of this collaboration is the <strong>carbon footprint analysis of the <a href=\"https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/sath\">SATH floating platform technology<\/a><\/strong>, carried out by Michail Theodoridis as part of his diploma thesis. His research delivers critical insights into <strong>lifecycle emissions<\/strong> and helps identify actionable strategies to reduce the carbon footprint in future floating offshore wind deployments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In partnership with <strong>Professor Eva Loukogeorgaki<\/strong> and her students <strong>Angelos Klironomos<\/strong> and <strong>Michail Theodoridis<\/strong>, we are conducting a <strong>comprehensive life cycle assessment (LCA)<\/strong> of floating wind platforms. This work is expected to generate <strong>design-driven solutions<\/strong> that enhance both <strong>structural efficiency<\/strong> and <strong>environmental sustainability<\/strong>, contributing to next-generation offshore wind platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Promoting circularity in the floating wind value chain<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Our joint efforts also extend to exploring <strong>circular economy strategies<\/strong> in floating offshore wind. These include the <strong>integration of renewable energy in the manufacturing of SATH platforms<\/strong> and <strong>recycling solutions for end-of-life components<\/strong>. These initiatives aim to build a more <strong>sustainable and resilient value chain<\/strong> across the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In parallel, we are setting the groundwork for new research avenues with AUTh focused on <strong>nature-based solutions<\/strong> and <strong>biodiversity protection<\/strong> in floating offshore wind farms. Preserving marine ecosystems while expanding renewable energy capacity is a shared priority. We believe that <strong>engineering innovation must go hand in hand with environmental stewardship<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are excited about the road ahead and proud to continue this impactful collaboration with the <strong>Aristotle University of Thessaloniki<\/strong>.
