To scale up and present an energy source that is both <strong>reliable and cost-competitive<\/strong>, Saitec Offshore Technologies has integrated into <strong>Pilot 1<\/strong> of the European <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/claner.es\/i3float\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">I3FLOAT Project<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The I3FLOAT Framework<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Co-funded by the <strong>European Union<\/strong> under the I3-2024-INV1 call, I3FLOAT is a 36-month initiative that brings together 24 partners, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saitec.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Saitec <\/a>and Saitec Offshore Technologies, across 8 countries. The objective is strictly operational: testing pioneering technologies in real-world environments to reduce uncertainties, lower the levelized cost of energy, and build a robust interregional supply chain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Driving SATH Technology Forward in Pilot 1<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Within this project, Pilot 1 serves as the testing ground for innovations surrounding our <a href=\"https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/sath\">SATH (Swinging Around Twin Hulls) technology<\/a>. We are working directly on three core technical areas alongside specialized partners:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><td><strong>Partner<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Innovation Area<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Core Focus<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Aventa<\/strong><\/td><td>Inter Array Cable (IAC) System<\/td><td>Metocean analysis, cross-section electrical design, and mooring configurations.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>France \u00c9nergies Marines (FEM)<\/strong><\/td><td>Digital Twin &amp; Forecasting<\/td><td>Real-time sensor integration, aero-servo-hydro-elastic modeling, and AI.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>IngZero<\/strong><\/td><td>Fiber Reinforced Concrete<\/td><td>Structural innovations, fatigue analysis, and industrialization processes.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Detailed Scope of Works<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In the framework of this project, we are working on the following specific innovations to optimize platform performance and reliability:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Inter Array Cable (IAC) system with Aventa<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The project involves the selection of 2 installation sites: Galicia with a 150m water depth and the Gulf of Lion with a 65m water depth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The engineering teams are executing the cross section design, which includes the electrical definition of the section and local analysis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work also includes the design of the mooring system configuration for the Galicia site.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/projects\/demosath\">DemoSATH <\/a>Digital Twin and Forecasting model, in collaboration with France Energies Marines (FEM)<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To increase simulation fidelity, real physical measurements are fed into the numerical model.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A primary objective is the behavioural and health state forecasting model development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This forecasting capability is achieved by using AI techniques and neural networks to learn dependencies between variables.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fiber reinforced concrete alongside with IngZero<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Focus on the development of structural innovations, considering high-strength concrete, fiber reinforced concrete or steel for specific parts of the SATH floating platform.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A key task is to determine how fatigue aspect affects the design of the platform or its parts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We are conducting a comparative economic study between the fiber-reinforced concrete and high-strength concrete or even steel for specific parts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ultimate goal is to define durability strategies to increase lifespan and reduce maintenance costs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:51px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"724\" src=\"https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/02-Piloto-Saitec-Pais_Vasco-1024x724.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22998\" style=\"width:780px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/02-Piloto-Saitec-Pais_Vasco-1024x724.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/02-Piloto-Saitec-Pais_Vasco-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/02-Piloto-Saitec-Pais_Vasco-150x106.jpg 150w, https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/02-Piloto-Saitec-Pais_Vasco-768x543.jpg 768w, https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/02-Piloto-Saitec-Pais_Vasco-1536x1086.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/02-Piloto-Saitec-Pais_Vasco-2048x1448.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/02-Piloto-Saitec-Pais_Vasco-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/02-Piloto-Saitec-Pais_Vasco-206x146.jpg 206w, https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/02-Piloto-Saitec-Pais_Vasco-50x35.jpg 50w, https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/02-Piloto-Saitec-Pais_Vasco-106x75.jpg 106w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:63px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The engineering activities within Pilot 1 are already in progress.
