{"id":911,"date":"2020-07-16T13:02:01","date_gmt":"2020-07-16T11:02:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/?p=911"},"modified":"2020-07-16T13:02:03","modified_gmt":"2020-07-16T11:02:03","slug":"demosath-design-assessment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/en\/demosath-design-assessment\/","title":{"rendered":"Worley completes DemoSATH design assessment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Worley has carried out the <strong>accessibility design assessment<\/strong> for our <a href=\"https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/projects\/\">DemoSATH <\/a>floating wind project, which will be deployed off the Basque Coast in northern Spain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DemoSATH is a <strong>2 MW turbine<\/strong>, mounted onto a concrete floating foundation. The project will test the very first floating wind foundation connected to the Spanish grid using SATH (Swinging Around Twin Hull) technology. Once connected to the grid, DemoSATH is expected to <strong>supply electricity to almost 2,000 homes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project has benefited from Worley\u2019s extensive technical expertise, acquired through decades of project experience in the oil, gas and offshore wind industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.worley.com\/what-we-do\/our-markets\/new-energy\/wind\" target=\"_blank\">Worley <\/a>provided advisory services pertaining to the access, inspection and maintenance of <strong>boat landings and turret access design assessments<\/strong>. Worley also consulted on access materials, handling scenarios depending on the weather conditions, different human factors and Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cMaximizing availability of floating wind is one of our ultimate goals and having the opportunity to collaborate with Worley and taking advantage from their know-how and expertise serves as a stepping-stone towards a safe and optimal operation of SATH platforms\u201d.<br><\/p><cite>David Carrascosa, CTO Saitec Offshore Technologies.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>About DemoSATH project<\/strong><br>With the expertise and financial support of <strong>RWE Renewables<\/strong>, DemoSATH project aims to prove the behaviour of the<a href=\"https:\/\/saitec-offshore.com\/sath\/\"> SATH Floating Solution<\/a> under real operational and extreme conditions, collect data and gain real-life knowledge from the construction, operation and maintenance of the unit.
