WAVEC Lisbon 2025

We are happy to announce our participation in WavEC Lisbon 2025, the annual international seminar hosted by WavEC Offshore Renewables. This event is established as an essential forum for professionals and leaders in the renewable energy sector.

The conference will take place on December 4, 2025, at the Museu do Oriente in Lisbon, Portugal. And our COO, David Carrascosa, will participate in Session II – Opportunities for joint industrial development to accelerate offshore wind deployment that is scheduled for 10:30 AM.

Speakers will discuss partnerships across ports, shipyards, OEMs, utilities and SMEs to expand manufacturing and logistics capacity. Examples of regional offshore wind clusters and collaborative innovation (floating foundations, digital tools, O&M) will be highlighted.
The debate will also cover skills development, local value creation and long-term industrial planning.
Finally, the session will examine how regulation and public support can better align with industrial investment timelines.

This year, the seminar focuses on the theme: “Portugal and Brazil: Transatlantic Alliance to Boost Floating Wind”, a strategic topic for the global development of clean energy. As WAVEC announced, “this year’s edition takes place at a decisive moment for offshore wind in the Atlantic. Focus has now shifted toward defining conditions needed to make floating wind both cost-competitive and sustainable. Meanwhile, Brazil’s energy sector is moving steadily forward, with major oil and gas players including Petrobras investing in feasibility studies, pilot initiatives and early regulatory frameworks”.

Agenda: focused sessions on investment, innovation, and sustainability

The conference agenda is specifically designed with a focus on investment opportunities and technological innovation in deep waters.

Key topics:

  1. Investment and financing: Models for unlocking public and private investment and financing opportunities in Floating Offshore Wind projects in Portugal and Brazil, analyzing risk mitigation strategies.
  2. Joint industrial development: Discussion on the critical importance of building industrial capacity and a robust supply chain strategy between the two countries to accelerate Offshore Wind deployment at scale.
  3. Innovation and R&D: Presentation of technological synergies in floating platforms, mooring systems, environmental monitoring, and the application of digital twins. Exploring pathways to structure joint R&D projects between Portugal and Brazil.
  4. Sustainability and social pathways: Sharing best practices on coexistence with marine life and coastal stakeholders, as well as the challenges of Environmental Impact Assessment and environmental licensing for deepwater projects.
