A company created to bring Saitec's knowledge into the development of floating offshore wind.

Saitec knowledge driving floating offshore wind.

Saitec's experience in structural calculation, civil works and renewables moves offshore with a clear objective: developing a competitive and industrializable floating solution to help deploy offshore wind where fixed-bottom foundations are not the answer.

SATH development is built on data, testing and operational learning. That knowledge helps mature the solution, reduce uncertainty and prepare its application in larger-scale projects, with a vision connected to ports, supply chain and operation.

SATH brings Saitec's structural, civil and renewable expertise offshore. Its development combines data, testing and operational learning to mature the technology before scaling.

Why offshore wind

Wind potential needs technology able to operate in real conditions.

Offshore wind combines energy transition, industrial scale and activity linked to ports, manufacturing, logistics and operation. Floating wind expands that potential into deeper-water locations, but adds a decisive condition: structure, mooring, dynamics, installation, maintenance and certification must work as one system.

01

Growing global scale

GWEC reports 92.5 GW of global offshore wind installed by the end of 2025, after 9.3 GW connected during the year and presence across 19 markets. The opportunity no longer depends only on resource: it requires industrial execution, ports, supply chain and real-sea operation.

02

Technical maturity and competitiveness

IRENA records offshore wind capacity rising from 3.1 GW in 2010 to 82.9 GW in 2024, while the global average offshore generation cost fell 62% over the same period. That progress reinforces the need for technologies able to consolidate before commercial deployment.

Journey

Ten years of accumulated work.

Saitec Offshore Technologies is created

The company is created to develop SATH and bring Saitec's experience into the floating offshore wind market.

Testing and numerical modelling

Validation campaigns contrast hydrodynamic behaviour, structural response, mooring systems, heave plate performance and wind-wave scenarios.

From calculation to port

The design moves to the quay, where prefabrication, assembly, quality control, logistics and marine-operation preparation must come together before going offshore.

DemoSATH is installed at BiMEP

The 2 MW prototype operates in open sea off the Basque coast, connected to the grid and monitored as a floating laboratory.

Preparing for commercial scale

The experience feeds designs for larger turbines, industrialization, biodiversity, monitoring and new R&D programmes.

10 years

Ten years of technical evolution.

A look at SOT's journey: from the initial development of SATH to port and open-sea validation, through testing, fabrication, operation and learning alongside teams, industrial partners and the real marine environment.

Our team

A team prepared to approach floating wind from every angle.

SOT brings together structural and naval engineering, geotechnics, hydrodynamics, metocean, marine operations, industrialization, quality, safety, environment, R&D and business development. Floating technology needs teams able to connect design, execution, operation and continuous learning from early stages.

Quality, HSE and environmental management

Reliable technology demands quality, safety and responsibility.

In offshore projects, prevention is part of the work from the beginning and influences how assets are designed, fabricated, installed and operated.

Quality, HSE and environmental management help anticipate risks, protect people, coordinate suppliers and reduce impacts. It is a cross-functional discipline that accompanies the project from early decisions to open-sea operation.

Saitec Offshore Technologies has ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems as part of its commitment to quality and environmental management.
