We had the pleasure of sharing our latest advancements and ongoing work with the youngest members of the society during the recent European Researchers' Night in Bizkaia as part of the ORE4CITIZENS project (Bringing Offshore Renewable Energy to Society) organized by como JRL-ORE (TECNALIA, BCAM and UPV/EHU+EUSKAMPUS).
It was an exciting event where children enthusiastically participated in a range of engaging activities we organized. From hands-on games to a creative drawing workshop, the kids revealed their artistic talents while learning about offshore wind energy. They also explored the fascinating world of artificial reefs, selecting different species in an interactive game. A dedicated workshop allowed them to discover how samples, fundamental to our research, are collected. They even had the opportunity to view bird images captured by our DemoSATH wind turbine and learn about the work of our ROV in exploring underwater environments.
It was incredibly rewarding to see these young minds actively involved in sustainability, environmental care, and biodiversity promotion through such pioneering initiatives. Their enthusiasm was truly inspiring!
